A deep red colour with a crimson hue and brilliant clarity. This wine has a inviting aroma with typical Grampians Shiraz pepperiness, dark red berry and licorice notes. A fine follow on from the previous vintage but delivers more power and balanced to perfection.
Maturation was in American and French oak hogsheads for 30 months contributing smoothing oak lactone sweetness. The palate has full bodied flavour with tannins that are firm but not assertive, the intensity of flavour persists. There is plenty of Shiraz spice with ripe plum and mocha notes and finishes dry with a lengthy aftertaste. Sealed with Stelvin capsules this wine will retain its freshness, it will benefit from decanting and patient breathing before drinking during the next phase of its life.
