Great Western, the wine village of the Grampians

Great Western is located at the foothill of the Grampians National Park, a part of Western Victoria. Our region is an escape for adventure and experiences. Only a few hours from Melbourne, about half way between Adelaide and Melbourne, the Grampians is one of Victoria’s most popular holiday destination.

The village of Great Western is located on the Western Highway, between Stawell and Ararat, just a short 25 minutes drive from Halls Gap. The Grampians vineyards produce some of the highest award winning wines in Australia, with Great Western being a sub-region of the Grampians Wine region, has the highest concentration of wineries in the Grampians region.
Great Western is brimming full of historic and boutique wineries, Salingers Café with it’s own kitchen garden, our old fashioned country pub and you can experience something you can’t anywhere else in Australia, underground fine dining in the historic Seppelt Cellars.

Wineries with cellar doors in Great Western are Seppelt Wines, Best’s Wines, Grampians Estate, ATR Wines and Miners Ridge. There are other wineries with vineyards in and around Great Western, but may not have cellar doors. Great news through… all Grampians Wineries have wines available at the Great Western Hotel!
