The vineyard was selected for it’s “terrior”, where the attributes of row orientation, north facing slope, deep red and well drained soil and the region’s cool climate, combine with the specifically selected local Great Western clone, to be an ideal vineyard for producing high quality wines for the Clarnette & Ludvigsen label.
Traditional techniques are employed by one of the Grampians hidden gems, Clarnette & Ludvigsen. Open top fermenters and minimal handling are all part of the process that create this soft, approachable yet imminently cellarable Shiraz from the Great Western sub-region. Well known for producing Shiraz of the utmost elegance and structure, this example from Clarnette & Ludvigsen is simply a stand-out.
Available from the Great Western Hotel at $35 a bottle or $10 a glass
